I am a mother of two young adults who moved to Canada 25 years ago. As a person of colour and an immigrant woman, I have first-hand experience with the challenges and barriers newcomers and refugees face while integrating into Canadian society. Furthermore, raising children in this new culture has become challenging for many parents; I learned this through my own experiences and found various ways to balance our expectations with their needs.
