Hamza Furmli, MSW

Hamza is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and has completed a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto. Hamza has over 5 years of counselling experience in both healthcare and non-profit settings such as SickKids Hospital, Naseeha Mental Health, and BridgeTO working alongside youth, adults, and families who are experiencing concerns from the intersection of life transitions, personal and familial relationships, work and/or school related stress, addiction, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. Hamza recognizes the complexities of how mental health concerns present uniquely for each person and works in a collaborative manner with each client to help understand where they are at and uses a variety of therapeutic modalities consisting of cognitive behavioural, emotion-focused, and narrative_therapy. Hamza strives in providing anti-oppressive and culturally sensitive psychotherapeutic interventions incorporating the role of ethnicity, culture, and spirituality.
