I know that finding the right therapist is not easy. You are looking for someone who is competent and safe who can accompany you on the path to healing. You may be wanting to heal wounds and grow past trauma, grief, or major life changes. Or, perhaps you are looking to navigate relationships in healthier ways. You may be looking to better understand yourself. Most of all, you want someone to understand you.
My work draws on narrative, family systems, emotion-focused, and relational modalities, as well as an understanding of integrated spirituality and neurodiversity. I have worked with mental health, addictions, couples, and emergency/crisis care. At the end of the day, you are the expert of your experience, and I aim to help you feel empowered, and in control.
At the center of healing is trust and understanding. I hope that you will be able to use our encounters as opportunities to grow, develop insight, and find your voice without judgement. I will bring my experience and shared human experience to help you move forward. I hope that you will reach out!
My therapy also draws on an understanding of Islamic psychology. What is more important than any one method is to adapt my approach to something that creates meaning, healing, and growth for you as a whole individual. I have a racially, culturally, and socially conscious lens, being sensitive to the fact that our circumstances in life can often become harder to manage when we experience various degrees of unequal treatment in society, such neurodivergence, personal histories of racialization, and/or spiritual abuse.
Hobbies and interests: I love sharing experiences with family and friends, enjoying music, learning, exploring the outdoors & kayaking!
