Zainib completed her undergraduate from the University of Toronto, with a focus in Neuroscience and Psychology, and later obtained her Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto. In addition to her private practice, she is currently working at Toronto Western Hospital as a mental health clinician and continues to be involved in research & community engagement projects that aim to support the mental health and well-being of individuals & families. When working with Zainib, you will find that her approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centred & trauma-informed. Zainib’s experience, education, and training allows her to support clients in cultivating wellness practices with a compassionate and non-judgmental stance. She has supported individuals and couples with various issues, including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, post-traumatic stress, relationship challenges and life transitions, burn out, stress, perfectionism, and ‘workaholic’ tendencies. Zainib has extensive training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, as well as training in Sensorimotor & Somatic Psychotherapies. As a certified applied mindfulness meditation specialist from the University of Toronto, Zainib has facilitated several mindfulness-based therapy programs at Toronto Western Hospital, Southlake Regional Health Centre, and Stevenson Memorial Hospital. Zainib provides faith-based therapy to clients who identify as Muslim and provides services in English and Arabic. She is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Zainib is a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT ~300 hrs).
