Dr. Giwa is a culturally diverse clinician, who has an open-minded, nonjudgmental, integrated, and research-informed approach to therapy and addressing client needs. When working with clients, he believes that many psychological issues originate from a combination of learned and reinforced behaviors which are responses to environmental factors. He addresses the cognitive, affective, physical, and behavioral effects on one's mental health from a Biopsychosocial-Spiritual framework while using evidence-based practice (EBP) that suit the client's needs. His training and work experiences in community mental health, integrated primary care, and neuropsychological testing in outpatient and inpatient medical settings, counseling centers, and private practice has strengthened his appreciation for an integrative, holistic approach to treatment.
