Salaamun Alaykum!
I’m Maryam, a clinical social worker with a professional background in both social work and psychology. I earned my MSW from the University of Michigan, where I cultivated my clinical skills as a psychotherapist at the University of Michigan Children’s Hospital, providing trauma-informed care to children and their families. My academic journey also includes a dual bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Public Health – Family Science from the University of Maryland.
With specialized training and experience in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I integrate evidence-based trauma-focused interventions into my therapeutic work. My approach is grounded in a God-centric perspective, creating a safe and non-judgmental space for healing. I believe in a holistic approach that recognizes the profound interconnection between the mind, body, and environment. My goal is to empower individuals by nurturing their strengths, helping them build healthier relationships with themselves, their families, and contribute to more resilient communities.
