Dr. Zain Shamoon completed his PhD in Human Development and Family Studies and his Master's in Couple and Family Therapy at Michigan State University.
In his therapeutic work, Dr. Shamoon is dedicated to the creation of spaces where people can tell their personal stories en route to their own growth and wellness. He is a practicing family therapist, interested in increasing relief, quality of life, and healthier relationships for his clients. His clinical experience includes extensive time working with clients experiencing high anxiety, depressed mood, or relationship challenges. In addition to teaching and advising students, his academic areas of focus include: applying cultural sensitivity in domestic violence services (Zain's dissertation), Person of the Therapist (POTT) training in graduate curricula, and use of feedback mechanisms in therapy.
